A very special Marcellin Medallion Dinner
On the eve of the feast day of St Marcellin Champagnat, the College welcomed back our beloved previous Rector, Br Michael Green, as our special guest at this important celebratory event, the Marcellin Medallion Dinner.
Prior to dinner, the College Chaplain, Fr Paul, led the liturgy explaining the significance of St Marcellin to Aquinas and all of the Aquinian students.
In addition to Br Michael, the Staff, and Students also welcomed a number of the Marist Community from Sacred Heart College, the Director of Catholic Education SA, Dr. Neil McGoran, three new members of the College Council, Ms. Kate Critchley (Aquinas 1992-1994) and her husband, Mr. Brendan O’Callaghan(Aquinas 1992-1994), Mr. Bruce Debenham and his wife, Ms. Angela Debenham and Mr. Vincent Kain (Aquinas 1993-1996) and Mr. Daniel Lynch, Head of Sacred Heart College.
Br Michael spoke fondly of his time leading the Aquinas family and the importance of the family table at Aquinas. Br Michael presented the college with the gift of a beautiful painting of St Marcellin’s table, so symbolic to the Marist family (and which still exists to this day at the home of the Marists in Lavalla, France).
During the Dinner, each of the ten House Coordinators introduced the member of their House whom they had chosen to receive the Marcellin Medallion. All of them reported the difficulty in making their choices, given that so many students personify the values of St Marcellin.
This year’s winners were:

Josh Cornolo (Catherine House)
Jordan Stephens (Finn House)
Jess Tresidder (Gleeson House)
Edward Grover (Hannan House)
