Aquinas College and Roseworthy College reinstate sporting competition

This friendly competition between the two Colleges, in abeyance for many years, was recently reinstated thanks to the efforts of our Student Club President, Grace Moloney (who happens to be studying at Roseworthy), and Sporting Secretaries, Emily Dawe, and Nash Richman.

On Friday 28 July, the members of the Women’s and Men’s Basketball teams, with a large group of Aquinas Students, journeyed to Roseworthy to play for the newly created Hamra Sparrow Cup. This cup was named by the Student Club after Registrar, Steph Hamra and Business Manager, Todd Sparrow, “as members of the College who exemplify the true spirit of Aquinas and are integral in ensuring it functions to the highest levels”.

Both the Aquinas Women’s and Men’s Teams were victorious, bringing home the Hamra Sparrow Cup.

Roseworthy were very welcoming hosts, providing pizza for all of the Teams and supporters after the game.  We look forward to returning to Roseworthy in a few weeks’ time to compete against them in Women’s and Men’s Soccer, playing for the Purdy Emery Cup.
