HTC Soccer-another win to the Men and a close third for the Women
On a glorious and sunny Spring Day, conscious of our current narrow HTC lead, we trekked down to West Beach to play the World Game.
Once again an amazing Aquinas supporter turnout proved to be part of the Aquinas winning formula for the Men’s Team. The men won against Lincoln College, St. Ann’s College and Flinders Hall, drawing against St. Mark’s College. Due to the various results, Aquinas finished first place in front of St Ann’s College, with St Mark’s College third, Lincoln fourth, and Flinders fifth.
The Women’s team, encouraged by the recent performances of the Matildas in the World Cup, took to the fields with determination and enthusiasm. Winning against Flinders Hall, they tied with St. Ann’s, St. Mark’s, and Lincoln College. Much speculation surrounded who would be placed where due to the closeness of scores. St. Ann’s was declared the winner, followed by St. Mark’s in second place, Aquinas in third, Lincoln in fourth, and Flinders Hall in fifth place.
We kept our current HTC lead and look forward to the last two HTC events, Table tennis and Athletics.
