New Dean of Student Life appointed at Aquinas

Aquinas College is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Dean of Student Life, Ebony Drake (Aquinian 2012-2014). Ebony will commence in January 2024.

Moving from Whyalla, Ebony came to Aquinas in 2012 where she studied her Bachelor of Education at Flinders University. During her time at Aquinas, Ebony was on Social Club as the Fresher representative in her first year. In 2014, Ebony was appointed House Coordinator and lived out her third consecutive year in Finn House.

After graduating from her teaching studies in 2016, Ebony stepped straight into teaching at a Department for Education school in central Adelaide. Later moving to the foothills to further her experience, Ebony became a mentor teacher to both prospective teachers fulfilling their studies and newly graduated teachers, helping them to develop their teaching practice.

Ebony switched to marketing in 2020, gained her Masters in Digital Media from Deakin University and moved to Sydney to pursue her marketing career, working for several high-profile companies.

Since returning to Adelaide this year, Ebony has supported Aquinas through Faculty Nights and was a member of the 2024 House Coordinator selection panel.

“I’m incredibly excited to be returning to Aquinas as the Dean of Student Life. I often catch myself reflecting with friends and family about my years as a student and I look forward to supporting students during their time as Aquinians and beyond”.

Aquinas is excited to welcome Ebony back.
