Inaugural St Marcellin Medallions awarded
Inaugural St Marcellin Medallions awarded
The last formal dinner for the semester was the occasion for the inaugural Presentation Dinner for the St Marcellin Medallions.
These are new awards that have been introduced to Aquinas in 2018. Ten are to be presented each year, on or near the Feast of St Marcellin Champagnat which occurs on 6th June. The awardees – one per House – will be students who are outstandiung in their living of one or more qualities of the Marist founder, and who bring alive these Marist values at Aquinas. They are nominated by the House Coordinators.
At Monday night’s dinner, each of the ten HCs spoke about why they had chosen the person they had. It was a wonderful recognition both of some outstanding Aquinians and also of the values that define the renowned Aquinas culture.
This year’s recipients of the St Marcellin Medallion are as pictured with the Rector, Brother Michael Green:
Top Row (L to R) Sam Dawson, Brother Michael Green, Chelsea Quinn, Gemma Pollard, Daniel Puckridge, Harry Carine and Talib Rahman. First Row (L to R) Jessica Casanova, Eliza Smith, Hannah Pretty and Hannah Oborn.
Congratulations!
