Aquinas students receive Playford Trust Awards

Students from Aquinas College were among the recipients celebrated at the 2026 Playford Trust scholarships awards night, held at Flinders University.

At the ceremony—part of the annual Playford Trust presentation evening—scholarships were awarded to high-achieving students across science, engineering, and related STEM fields, reflecting areas considered vital to South Australia’s future.

A key highlight for Aquinas College was the awarding of the Playford Trust / Aquinas College Residential Scholarship, which supports students living at the college while undertaking STEM degrees. In 2026, this scholarship went to: Mason Bentley – studying Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at Flinders University. This scholarship is specifically designed to assist students transitioning into university life while residing at Aquinas, combining financial support with opportunities for academic and professional development.

Further Rural Stem Scholarships donated by the Commonwealth Hill Trust/ Playford Trust were awarded to first-year Aquinas students Max Pedler and Bradley Phelps. Max is studying a Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Leadership and Bradley is studying a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, both at Adelaide University.
