Hockey but NOT HTC Hockey
After St Mark’s were unfortunately unable to find a venue to host HTC Hockey the Aquinas College coaches decided to mix the Men’s and Women’s Teams and play an internal competition.
Sunday the 9th was a wet and cold day as our two College mixed hockey teams, Red and Black, geared up for an internal game. The rivalry was fierce, with the College divided, wearing red or black to support their favourite team.
Despite the thunder roaring through the dark skies the teams held out and so did the supporters! In true Aquinas Spirit.
The first half started slowly, with the Black Team coming out strong, but Team Red defended well, with goalkeepers Zac and Millie doing an outstanding job to keep the score at 0–0.
The second half began to go Black’s way, with Harry scoring early in the half, which was quickly answered by Red Team captain Cooper, who retaliated with a goal. The game continued to go back and forth, with Oscar scoring and Harry scoring a second, putting Team Black ahead 3–1. However, in the last minute, Jack put one away for Team Red, ending the day with a 3–2 win for Team Black.
