Men’s Basketball 2027
The Aquinas Men’s Basketball Team started off winning both games in Round 1 against Flinders and Lincoln. Lincoln were a good early test for the Team with plenty of height and talented players. Oscar Marr- McGuire continued to shoot the ball well just like last year and a new addition Jedd Tranter had great defensive intensity. Moving on to Round 2, the Team played St Ann’s first and won comfortably, which set the tone for the last game against St Mark’s. The atmosphere was amazing and the scores were close all game. Unfortunately, St Mark’s made a great shot at the very end putting them up by 1 point and taking home the win. A standout this game was Nick Joy with his incredible rebounding display. The whole squad should be incredibly proud of their efforts over the two weeks, finishing second behind St Mark’s.
Women’s Basketball 2027
The HTC Women’s Basketball Team put in a lot of hours of training, planning and refining their skills ready for a big 2 weeks of basketball. The first game of Round 1 was against St Mark’s, which turned out to be their most difficult game of the entire competition, only just losing by 4 points. The second game of Round 1 was against St Ann’s; as a team, Aquinas started to gel and secured a comfortable win going into Round 2 the following week. In Round 2, the Women’s Team faced Lincoln College and Flinders University, coming home with two great wins to finish in second place. A massive thanks and congratulations to all the squad for this year.
Noticeable over both nights of competition was the huge Aquinas College supporter base.
