HTC Tennis a day of mixed results

HTC Tennis was a brilliant day, thanks to supportive fans, some entertaining matches, and great weather.

The day started pleasantly with SAUCC putting on an inter-college breakfast – there couldn’t be a better way to start the day off than with a bacon and egg roll.

Our tennis players had put in the hard yards, training tirelessly in the lead-up to HTC Tennis. It was rare to see the Aquinas tennis court empty or to not hear the sound of tennis balls from 8am-10pm. Our players’ dedication and sportsmanship was evident in every single match, and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them.

There were a few nail-biting tie-breakers but our Aquinians kept their cool and fought hard. A special mention should be given to our best on ground players for the day – Jorja Mitchell who represented Aquinas in the Women’s singles, whose consistency and accuracy was unmatched throughout the day, and Toby Casonova who played in the mixed doubles, bringing some great forehands and strategic play.

Placing third overall for the day, Aquinas remains in a competitive position against the other Colleges

We can’t wait for next year to bring home the HTC tennis cup!! Go Wolves!
