This year, the special Marcellin Medallion Service and Dinner also featured the commissioning of our wonderful new Head of College, Dr Sarah Moller.

The Staff and Students welcomed the Archbishop of Adelaide, Patrick O’Regan, several brothers from the Marist Community at Sacred Heart College, Br Greg, Br Brian and Br Michael, the Chair of the Catholic Schools Commission, Mr John Neate, the Director of Catholic Education SA, Dr. Neil McGoran, some members of the College Council, the Chairperson Ms Joanne Sawyer, Mr Damian Judd and Mr. Vincent Kain, Dr Moller’s mother and father, Ms Jacquie and Mr Richard Moller and Dr Moller’s husband, Mr Dale Gosden and their three children Charlotte, Lawrence and Lucy Gosden.

The Service was led by the Archbishop, joined by the College Chaplain, Fr Paul Ghanem, who spoke of St Marcellin and the challenges in his day at the time of the French Revolution and the challenges faced by us all these days. Dr Moller was then commissioned by the Archbishop as the 17th Head of College.

The Marcellin Medallion Dinner is a festive evening when all the College gathers in their House groups to celebrate the Feast of St Marcellin. During the Dinner, each of the ten House Coordinators introduces the member of their House whom they have chosen to receive the Marcellin Medallion; the person from each House who most closely lives the values of St Marcellin Champagnat . Every House Coordinator spoke of the difficulty in making their choices, given that so many students personify the values of St Marcellin.
